After the Temple closed in October 2003, Karen q took a 2-month sabbatical in the beautiful Coromandel. Moving back to Auckland in December 2003, she continued on with various project work including a project in 2004 assessing Work and Income PACE clients. Current music industry projects/involvement include: Started on 3 January 2008 running Arts Promotion Trust Northland. The purpose of the organisation is to develop the creative industries in the Northland region. The last few months of 2007, contracted to The Depot Artspace in Devonport as PACE Artists' Career Facilitator - specialising in music. Judging the finals and semi-finals of the 2007 Diablo Singer Songwriter Competition Facilitating a series of workshops/clinics that took place in September / October 2007 "Record Production for Commercial Success" with Simon Holloway and Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper from Beaver Studios. Submitting an extensive proposal to the Digital Strategy (2007) to commence an extensive music infrastructure project. Unfortunately the proposal was not accepted - however I am currently working on developing the project without the funding - join the email list (subscribe@temple.co.nz) for info as it comes to hand. Co-producing an amazing live NZ music experience "An Intimate Evening With Shona Laing" at Auckland's Town Hall Concert Chamber in November 2006 Completing an online course of study in 2006 on the "Future of Music" at prestigious Boston Berklee College of Music Preparation of a briefing paper on touring restrictions/barriers on contract to the NZ Music Industry Commission. "Mapping" the infrastructure of the NZ music industry on contract to the NZ Music Industry Commission.
